I recently took two classes with the over-the-top fabulous Heather Telford. It was so motivating, that I came home and applied many of her techniques to this: an embellished tag.
To begin, I used a Ranger Essentials #8 Manila Tag and built a little scene with rolling hills and the Autumn Tree stamp from Penny Black. Heather has shared many of the fabulous details how to do this on her blog and here.
I stamped and embossed the tree with clear detail embossing powder first. Then I used Memento Ink’s Teal Zeal and Summer Sky to create the sky (with the center highlight) and Pear Tart and Bamboo Leaves for the hills. I used Copics to add some color to the tree and a few small rhinestone flowers.
The smaller sentiment tag was stamped with a Penny Black sentiment in Ranger’s Archival Ink and then embossed with clear detail embossing powder. I used the same Memento inks to color the background of the sentiment tag. I added some Prima flowers and a few charms to finish it up.
The Garden Assistant is also from Penny Black and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The assistant and her dog are pop dotted (a shadow layer and a color layer on top).
To finish the tag, I added a black chipboard backing that measured 1/4 inch larger than the tag and trimmed the corners. With the tag then framed in black, I added a Tim Holtz small easel stand to create a little desk decor for a friend.
Make sure you stop by Heather’s blog for some inspiration and put those fabulous Memento colors to work.
