Cricut Meets Downton Abbey

One of my favorite people will soon turn 18.  So to celebrate this grand event, here is a grand card with the happiest of flowers, daisies, which are her favorite.

The “footman” is from the Sweetheart cartridge – he started out as a “groom”.  I fashioned his livery using scissors and hand cut his arms as well.  At the end of the day, it was not difficult – particularly, because I was able to refer back to the fabulously talented Nadia Herbst-McConnell’s great instructions (http://www.withglitteringeyes.com/2011/07/cricut-kentucky-pennant.html and http://www.withglitteringeyes.com/2011/11/right-here-having-fun.html).

The young lady is from Forever Young.  Her hair was styled by Paper Doll Dress Up.  I love the fact that I can size the hair to fit using the Cricut Craft Room.  I used Nadia’s techniques for her arms and dress as I did with the footman.

“18”, draped in diamond Stickles, is from Sophisticated as is the silver tray.

The daisies are from Mother’s Day Bouquet and were cut at 1.75″.  I cut two petal layers for each flower, the petals are curled slightly in the middle (using my quilling tool), punched a 1/2 circle from gold vellum, covered with Diamond Glaze, and sprinkled with fine glitter while wet.

The sentiment is a collection of die cuts and stamps.    The stamps are from JustRite Stamps (Just Keep Calm series) and Papertrey Ink (Mover and Shaker series).  I also used the coordinating Spellbinder dies (nested oval and medallions).

Next up on the project list is another birthday card for another fabulous soon-to-be 18 year old (did I say these two are my absolute favorite set of twins?).  And then, I must return to cookbook pages.
