One of my favorite people will soon turn 18. So to celebrate this grand event, here is a grand card with the happiest of flowers, daisies, which are her favorite.
The “footman” is from the Sweetheart cartridge – he started out as a “groom”. I fashioned his livery using scissors and hand cut his arms as well. At the end of the day, it was not difficult – particularly, because I was able to refer back to the fabulously talented Nadia Herbst-McConnell’s great instructions (http://www.withglitteringeyes.com/2011/07/cricut-kentucky-pennant.html and http://www.withglitteringeyes.com/2011/11/right-here-having-fun.html).
The young lady is from Forever Young. Her hair was styled by Paper Doll Dress Up. I love the fact that I can size the hair to fit using the Cricut Craft Room. I used Nadia’s techniques for her arms and dress as I did with the footman.
“18”, draped in diamond Stickles, is from Sophisticated as is the silver tray.
The daisies are from Mother’s Day Bouquet and were cut at 1.75″. I cut two petal layers for each flower, the petals are curled slightly in the middle (using my quilling tool), punched a 1/2 circle from gold vellum, covered with Diamond Glaze, and sprinkled with fine glitter while wet.
The sentiment is a collection of die cuts and stamps. The stamps are from JustRite Stamps (Just Keep Calm series) and Papertrey Ink (Mover and Shaker series). I also used the coordinating Spellbinder dies (nested oval and medallions).
Next up on the project list is another birthday card for another fabulous soon-to-be 18 year old (did I say these two are my absolute favorite set of twins?). And then, I must return to cookbook pages.
Your post just popped in while I was checking my email. I have to say, I am floored by this creation…as I am by all of your creations. Everything you do is so sophisticated. The papers you used are fabulous. Your attention to detail is amazing. The bend of the body on the “footman,” the touches of sparkle and detail on his clothing, the ruffle on the bodice of your young lady’s dress….I could go on for days about this. Absolutely adore every single thing about it. Another unbelievable creation, Sis. Just stunning!
Wow, this is a beautiful card. Wonderful details. Looking forward to seeing the card for the other twin.
I have to agree with Diane: Everything you do is so sophisticated! The papers, patterns, figures. I love the way you altered the figures and her hairstyle is just perfect! Love the way you positioned the figures to enhance the composition! Beautiful paper couture– her bodice design is lovely! I so want to do a Sis Patterson homage piece— will have to include a tray. I love how you use that element!
This is a fantastic card. I am sure it will be loved and appreciated!
This is fabulous! The details are wonderful and I find myself studying each and every element.
Can’t wait to see the next one.
Stunning card! What a great way to serve up an 18th birthday! Thanks for sharing 😀
That is beautiful! You are great!
Wow, that really came together beautifully! Love the 18 on the silver platter… so creative!
This is absolutely gorgeous! So many pretty details to take in!
